Welcome to the UKFSSART equipment page. On this page you will find details of the search and rescue equipment used by the Team and links to our equipment suppliers. Whilst UKFSSART is supported by individual brigades who supply team members with personal equpment and clothing, we also rely on the support of suppliers and manufacturers, particularly in respect to specialist equipment. The Team will also undertake extended equipment trials and reporting procedures on behalf of manufacturers who may wish to test their equipment under realistic conditions. |
|
| The ethos behind the search and rescue tasks undertaken by UKFSSRT is to apply a wide range of 'hi-tech' equipment to the job of locating persons in a variety of locations and then to use advanced equipment to effect a rescue whilst providing a high level of casualty care. This application of technology underlines the advantage that 'advanced' SAR teams can bring to a disaster situation, complementing the more basic skills and equipment of local teams. |

To
further this ethos, UKFSSART also supports and encourages research and
development of new technology that may increase the effectiveness of
search and rescue operations. Details of R&D projects will also
be included on this page as well as articles and reports concerning
equipment for search, rescue and disaster response.
